When I asked this question to Raghunita Gupta, I was anticipating the answer. I did study her Instagram profile to understand how she utilized the time during lockdown. As a calligraphist she expanded her horizons and explored virtually all calligraphy and art forms which eluded her till now. But the major jewel in her crown was the joint Instagram live sessions which she started in the beginning of June 2020. She selects artists with some unique skill and in the live session asks the artist to explain the technique for the benefit of others. Selecting an artist for a live session is not an easy task. After so many years, you do get to know so many people. So it is a challenge of going through the profiles of so many artists and choosing an innovative technique to feature. Will it be easy and simple for others to pick up. Will the artist be able to explain it online within the required duration.
I feel Raghunita has done a wonderful job with her live sessions. She starts with an engaging conversation and makes the co participant comfortable with going live. She begins small and then moves on to the main subject. Each and every artist has praised the way she conducts the live session. All her sessions are saved on Instagram as IGTV videos.
