Do we truly recognise the contribution of a housewife – Story of Parul Mishra

Parul Mishra

Good day to you all. First of all I want to thank you people for sharing some of your precious time and patience for hearing me.

Married to a mariner for the last 10 years, my husband is in the Merchant Navy and he is mostly out almost 7-8 months in a year.

I gave birth to a boy in 2016, which is the most precious gift for any woman.

My husband is from Varanasi. We shifted to Delhi for a more comfortable life. My in-laws opted to stay back in our native place as they were having a more comfortable life there. Although my husband tried, but could not convince them. Then the COVID pandemic came which stopped almost everything in the world and till today it is creating obstruction in life. I hope it ends soon and life comes back to normal for everyone.

During the 2nd wave I lost both my in-laws due to COVID. Life was stuck for me at that time. But like they say, “Life is a show, it must go on”. That is what I did, moved on, leaving my sorrow behind.

I take care of my family and my children. But I do take time out to keep myself fit. A healthy mind in a healthy and fit body. My husband tells me that because of me he can work peacefully without any stress or worries.

As you must be aware, being the Captain of a ship is a stressful job. In Spite of challenges in my life, I live my life the way I always wanted to. I try to be happy and make everyone happy around me.

There is no situation in the world which can depress you. We must always try to find the solution, without worrying about the problem.

Thanks again for your patience and in the end I would like to tell you, “Life is the most precious gift of God, Live it Happily”
