Organic beauty products are trending and this increased awareness has bred absolute growth potential for many new businesses. While many customers are not comfortable buying organic products of known – major brands, they are willing to purchase their beauty products from small businesses selling handmade beauty products. Today we got a chance to speak with Tejashree Bhandarkar, the owner of Boxed Happiness. Let’s see what she has to say.
What is your definition of organic?
Anything which is derived from its natural and uncompromised source is organic.
It also means harnessing the power of nature in creating and using materials which makes you feel good from the inside and for which results lasts longer.
How did you conceive the idea of Handmade Beauty & bath Products? Where did it all begin?
It began in the second leg of Covid-19 lockdown. It was a grim period when basic daily essentials were not freely accessible. Even Medical Shops had longer queues. Stepping out to buy goods were risky. That’s when I decided to put my skills to good use. And yes, I’m a trained Cosmetic Formulator, by vocation. It started off with a few baby products for my infant daughter. Not only did it work wonders, but it gave me the confidence to start-on with my own venture and reach out to many who desire natural products.
I took the necessary baby steps in formulating, testing and selling products in my locality. Slowly and steadily the acceptance for my products grew and orders started pouring in. I took another major step, and put together a brand called ‘Boxed Happiness’.
While happiness is a much larger concept, my intent was to spread smiles in small boxes, in turn making my products a device to activate happiness. The icing on the cake was it being ‘All-Natural’.
All of this wasn’t as easy as it seemed here. I had to go through a rigorous process of testing and getting the combinations right. Especially when the product was being used on the skin and hair. I have carefully assessed all my ingredients and processes to make my products 100% safe on the skin and hair. Also having professional certification on homemade organic products worked to my benefit.
For now, Boxed Happiness has come a long way. I timely consult my customers on their needs and suggest products according to their skin & hair type. Which puts their queries to rest on the product and its efficacy. In an age of rapidness, many customers expect fast results. Which natural products can’t guarantee. What it can guarantee is effective results, if you have the patience for it.
