Life is always at an intersection, trying to move ahead. We are never taught to break the traffic signals, in fact we are told to follow the rules, colour inside the lines and walk the right path! When it comes to choices, why is it never left on us? Why are we then asked to jump the light and think outside the box? Thinking something unique does not entitle being a rebel, is it? Here are a few things that as a woman we face everyday shrouded as a choice!
A choice is not always between good or bad; evil and lesser evil. Sometimes these choices are both equally good. What needs to be determined is what is good for me? When a decision is reached about the choice that satisfies my desires and what I feel is right in the present situation, that is the choice that I can live with. As this was made by me. It is an informed decision that I can never go back and say, it was coerced.
Turning right will satisfy my ego, but turning left will satisfy my soul! Where should I go? My ego is equally important as my soul. Both the options are correct! And why not? Depending on the situation, do you want a name for yourself so that people would know or it could be just that you would actually feel good about it and feel confident too.
Is it God’s will or do I pick my own route? Many pious people would argue that, everything that has happened and will happen is what God has actually decided for us. But if that is the case, making a choice is also a predestiny and humans are in fact dolls and a puppet! But what if we ignore this fact and move ahead and chose our path, make our own mistakes and own them. Maybe we would learn something from them, maybe we won’t! But are we not moving ahead?
Whether we are at an intersection or a long straight road, we would not know unless we cross that path. Choices or not, learnings from our mistakes; Human beings are wired to move forward. Even when we take 2 steps back, we are always growing. Women too have the ability to overcome their innate nature and move ahead and be successful. We are not born with any additional cell; we all are just the same…To constantly ebb and flow. Create a path where there is none, God’s will or not, just own it.
