In Sanskrit Nari means ‘women’ and Sakti means ‘power’. In 2018, Oxford dictionary announced Nari Shakti as the Hindi Word of the Year. It denotes women empowerment, women’s rights and women taking charge of their own lives. This modern definition was chosen with the help of a panel of language experts from India.
