All my passion and activities have roots with my mother who encouraged and pushed me to learn all possible activities that are available for kids these days. So I learned calligraphy, art, quilling and so on. This also helped me to narrow down the options which I will use to monetise. Among all those activities which I did, art & painting fascinated me a lot. It still does.
Increasing my social circle
My first creative related activity was learning calligraphy. Later I picked up art and painting too. I learnt various mediums like oil colours, water colours and so on. I picked up all forms of calligraphy too. After finishing my 12th, I enrolled in an art academy to help my skills reach the optimal level.
But all this while I always have this idea at the back of my mind that my work should sell. I always dreamt of being financially independent. And what better way than art. I took 6-7 years to expand my reach towards potential customers. Art classes, custom work, commissioned work, collaborations, customised gifts and so on. Slowly the orders started coming in and now I have a full fledged brand.
Art is not just something made on a piece of paper
Anything you have in mind comes out in the form of art. It is a way to express your thoughts and emotions on a piece of paper. I believe that art pulls you out from technology to bring you into the real world. That is what I tell all the parent while asking them to enrol their children for art classes. Any kind of activity should be fine till they create something.
Many people have asked me, what is a paint brush doing in a digital world.
I have taken up a regular 9 to 5 job now. I do want to work in the corporate world. But at the same time I am focusing on art and drawing too. My mother loves paintings and I was born and brought up into this ecosystem. I am also focused on increasing my social circle so that I get more customers. Art is a part of me and will always remain the means to express my thoughts. And I won’t mind the money if it comes along.
