What’s the role of dancing in your life ?
Dancing came in my life when I needed it the most. It took away my loneliness as a child, brought a smile on my face and made me happy. I was a quiet lonely child in school, didn’t score well, and was always lost in my world. My mother made me join classical dance classes when I was 13 and since then I have been grateful to her. I did my first stage show, and the stage became my friend.
Dance helped me build confidence, it helped me be myself. After school, I joined Shiamak Davar classes and that’s when I learnt various dance forms like bollywood, salsa, Tango and Samba. Even today I can dance as soon as I hear any form of music. Dance has saved me in several ways and hence even today, it’s my stress buster, my mood lifter. It’s my passion and my source of happiness and joy.
They are many things listed in your bio so who exactly are you ?
I am a learner beyond everything else. I am a creative person who has the urge to learn new things. Most importantly, I am a psychologist and my heart lies in helping people. I pursued my Master’s in counseling psychology and worked with children with special needs. I started doing theatre and discovered my love for theatre and stage shows. I started writing blogs and poems to express myself.
Writing was my best mode of expression. I remember my mom used to write diaries and I picked up this habit from her. All my feelings were best expressed when I penned them. My love for poetry grew and I became part of anthologies. I have my poem published in one anthology and my second poem is in the process of getting published.
My dream is to publish my own book of poems one day. My poems are completely based on my experiences and I guess that is exactly why a lot of people can relate to it. My motive is to be there for people who need someone to listen to and not just hear. I hope to touch hearts with my words.
My belief is Learning never goes out of style.

What is the story behind the name smilesncurves?
Since childhood my mother has been telling me that I have the most beautiful smile and that became my motto, to keep smiling. I didn’t love myself as a child I kept thinking something was wrong with me and that’s why I didn’t have many friends. I was bullied for being a heavy child and it took me years to love myself and my body.
I was broken several times and my mom’s words helped me piece myself together. I kept smiling and loving myself more each passing day. My body, my curves, my smile they are the most beautiful things and I made sure they became the name for me.
Hence the name smilesncurves, two things that I am proud of, my smiles and my curves. I believe everyone out there should love themselves and not let anyone else decide for them. Smile and shine and conquer the world.
